As some of you may know, I’ve recently returned from my annual family vacation to Corfu – and it was incredible! It’s up there with my favourite times we’ve visited and it left me with so many unique experiences that I can’t wait to share with you all.
Before that, though, I thought I’d provide some suggestions on the best things to experience, based on my previous experiences. We’ve actually been to Corfu seven times now, so we’ve come to know it pretty well – although there is still tons left for us to uncover next year, too!
Here are some of my absolute must-sees the next time you make it to this gorgeous Ionian Greek island.
Sidari
First up we have Sidari! I’m a little biased towards here as it’s where we always stay – but there’s just so much to see and do there! You’ll find so many beautiful beaches and restaurants where you can try the local dishes. Make sure to check out Canal D’Amour and the harbour whilst you’re in the area!
I’ll be doing a longer post on the best activities to do in Sidari in the coming weeks.
Kassiopi
Make sure to check out this adorable little fishing village on the northeast coast. Here, you’ll find some adorable little shops, where you can pick up some beautiful lace products. Grab lunch at a restaurant on the water’s edge and stroll along the harbour, watching the boats and the people.
Kassiopi is also the island’s closest point to Albania, offering the clearest view of the country.
Kerkya
You can’t visit Corfu without going into town! Soak up the vibrant atmosphere and check out some of Corfu’s most iconic landmarks. Have a look at the old fortress and Jewish Quarter and lose yourself in the cobbly streets! There’s shops, restaurants, and ice cream parlours nearly everywhere you turn, so you’ll be sure to find something to your fancy.
Makrades
There are so many beautiful villages in Corfu to choose from – but Makrades is a firm favourite of mine. It’s the perfect place to spend a few hours! Here, you can stock up on local products and grab a bite to eat from a traditional taverna before exploring all the little alleys.
Paleokastritsa
Paleokastritsa has arguably one of the best beaches in Corfu! Please note, though, that with this comes some huge crowds – so be sure to head there early to secure your sunbeds.
There are also various boat tours on offer here, which are well worth taking! We took an hour long cruise around the nearby coves and it was amazing seeing the town from another angle.
Paleokastritsa and Makrades are also very close together, so we usually tie these two trips in with each other!
Kanoni
Looking for somewhere to relax for an afternoon? Look no further! Kanoni is one of my favourite places to unwind at. There’s an absolutely stunning beach and you can grab a bite to eat before exploring the church. You can also take a boat tour to the nearby islands – I haven’t done this but it looks great!
Kanoni’s highlight, though, is the views it offers. It’s located right next to the airport, so you can watch as the planes land – and snap some excellent shots!
Aqualand
This one’s for my fellow water lovers! I love a good waterpark and Aqualand is one of the biggest in the world, so I knew I’d have to make a trip. There are so many fun things to do here – from the lazy river to the wave pool to the 51 slides, there truly is something for everyone!
Everything’s split into sections to make your day easier – like the children’s adventure zone. When you’ve had enough thrills, you can get something to eat from one of the many stalls and do a little sunbathing.
Aqualand comes with tons of photographers on site, so you can even purchase a memento of your day.
Melisito Mountain Cafe
This one’s very specific, but for good reason! Melisito Cafe offers some of the best views I’ve ever seen on the island, and the food is great, too. It’s the perfect place to spend an hour or two and pick up some baked goods!
Catch A Sunset
I love sunsets – and Corfu has some really gorgeous ones! Make sure to head to the beach one evening to watch the sunset over the ocean before you leave. It’s such a magical experience!
Fall In Love With The (Many) Cats
No trip to Greece would be complete without fawning over the cats. Sometimes it feels like the cats outnumber the humans!
I’m a huge cat lover, so I always end up making friends with the cats over there (and feeding them, if I get a chance!). I wish I could take them home…
Conclusion
Corfu really is full of so many beautiful places – these are just some of my favourite things to experience! I hope this provided you with some inspiration for your next trip.
Have you visited Corfu before? What would you add to my list? Let me know in the comments!
Until the next adventure,
Ceri x

I only visited Corfu once and many years ago; all I remember is me and my boyfriend going on a drive outside Corfu town, discovering a small cove along the coast with crystal clear warm waters and a locally owned seafood restaurant serving the most amazing dishes, what I would do to go back to Corfu, beautiful place!

This trip looks amazing! I’ve never been to Greece, but it is certainly on my list of places I’d love to go. That water park was an unexpected place! It seems out of place amongst the idyllic island parts, but it looks like a lot of fun 🙂

Over the years, I have heard so much about visiting Corfu (and know a number of people who have been), but I’ve never got around to actually going — which I really should! One thing that really appeals to be is the nature and natural beauty, that really caught my eye!
