If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’ve spent countless hours thinking about all the places you’d like to visit, curating Pinterest boards and making potential trip itineraries. Italy, Canada, Thailand, Japan… The world is literally your oyster! It’s so exciting thinking about all the adventures out there.
So today I thought it would be fun to share my top ten travel bucket list destinations with you! Don’t get me wrong, this list is by no means extensive – otherwise this post would never get finished – but I always find it so much fun sharing and comparing different travel dreams. So, without further ado, let’s get into it!
1. Italy
Need I say more? One of my biggest dreams is to travel Italy for a month or so, taking in everything from Rome to the Amalfi coast to Florence to Pisa! There’s just something about it that has always seemed so magical to me and, once I have the money (and time), I know making that trip will be the first thing I do.
2. Tokyo
I haven’t visited anywhere in Asia yet, but I’d love Tokyo to be my first stop – there’s just something about it that draws me to it! I’m a huge city person but I love that Tokyo has more of a balance with quieter, more natural places too. I can see myself wandering down the streets and visiting the temples now!
3. Barcelona
I have been begging my family to take a trip to Barcelona for years now, but I still haven’t made it there! I know Winter might not be the obvious choice for a trip to Spain but I read online that Barcelona’s Christmas markets are amazing and I’m desperate to see for myself – and pay a visit to Parc Guella, of course!
4. Amsterdam
I still can’t believe I live in England and haven’t made it to The Netherlands yet! I read Anne Frank’s Diary a couple of years ago and I would really like to see the house for myself to gain a deeper understanding of what it was really like. Amsterdam has so many pretty canals on offer too!
5. New York
To be perfectly honest, I’d like to visit all of America (another dream of mine is to go on an American road trip) but New York is at the top of the list for obvious reasons. I’d love to see Brooklyn Bridge in person and explore such a massive place!
6. Prague
Prague was actually meant to be my first solo trip, but, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel. Two years later, I still dream about Charles bridge and what could’ve been! I’m really hoping I can finally visit in the next couple of years.
7. Canada
Canada is just so beautiful! I’m currently at university and last year I actually almost applied to spend a semester abroad in Oregon – but I got too scared and chickened out. Part of me still wishes I’d made that application, but I know I’ll get to Canada someday!
8. Ljubljana
Everyone always talks about how underrated Ljubljana is, and, from what I’ve seen, it looks incredible! I’d really love to explore a quieter European city and see how it compares to the more popular ones. Hopefully I’ll make it soon!
9. Australia
Does even the thought of some of the wildlife terrify me? Yes (especially the snakes and spiders). Do I want to visit anyway? Also yes, because, as I’ve learnt recently, you can’t let anything in life hold you back. The thought of those gorgeous sandy beaches and the city lights at Melbourne is enough to put my fear at bay… For now!
10. Thailand
Thailand just seems so wonderful! I think it would be so much fun backpacking around it for a while, and I’d really love to learn more about a culture that’s so different to mine. I’ve heard amazing things about the food, too!

Prague is on my bucket list too, along with Oman. Not a fan of long haul though, but my daughter has the Far East on her bucket list 🙂

I’ve been to Tokyo, Amsterdam, some parts of Thailand, Australia, Canada, and Italy. I wish to travel to Prague one day.

Great choices!! I also really do want to visit Japan, USA, Spain, and Italy. Other places I would like to travel to are Egypt, Turkey and Mexico

I went to Barcelona with college for a trip and loved it, then a couple of years later I went to Canada in mid-winter… and very much want to go back!
I went to Finland back in June and now I’m hoping to go again this winter.

Such a great list! I would love to visit Amsterdam and Italy one day as well. They’re both such beautiful places. I live in Canada and always love hearing about travellers’ experiences when they come to visit.

I found myself nodding in agreement as I was reading through this as I would love to go to any (and all) of these places. They are certainly bucket list items; I really must look into being able to travel again!

Amsterdam is only a 2 hour drive from my home in Belgium, so have been there a few times,, and I love it. Been to Italy too, but Rome and Pisa are also on my list.
